The communism that Karl Marx first wrote about was not the communism that Lenin and the Bolsheviks ended up imposing… She hopes to eventually write the next great American novel. She also loves writing and spreading her love of reading to those around her. She enjoys escaping to faraway places and encountering supernatural beings. While the love story is the main plot, there is also adventure, journeys of self-discovery, and even humor.īrittany Frizzell is an avid reader. It does change narrator perspective near the end of the book, but it makes sense in terms of the story being told. It’s not graphic, which is a wonderful thing, and it is a relatively quick read. I had to look a couple of the references up myself, but still enjoyed the book nonetheless. The novel takes place in England and has several British references as well as some British humor that some people may not get.
While the ending upset me, it makes sense for the story. It had all the elements which - to me, at least - make a great love story. They brought out the best in each other and helped each other get out of their comfort zone. The story between Louisa and Will is so sweet and I enjoyed their journey together. This book made me tear up, and I don’t usually cry while reading a book. While at first the two butt heads about everything, they soon begin to learn that they have a lot in common and begin a journey of discovery, adventure and love, that comes to an abrupt end due to a tragic decision. Will, a once-vibrant, well-traveled business man, is a mid-30s man living at home under the care of his parents, after a tragic accident in 2007 turned him into a quadriplegic. When her job gets terminated she turns to a staffing agency for help, where they set her up as a caretaker to the arrogant and bossy Will Traynor. “Me Before You” tells the story of Louisa Clark, a 26-year-old living an ordinary life working a regular job, living with her normal family and spending time with her boring boyfriend. This month’s selection has all of that, with a twist. There are also all the other classic moments, like all the romantic tension, the moment the couple realizes they are in love with each other, and the happy ending.
I love the initial meet-cute where the couple meets for the first time and either can’t stand each other or hit it off right away. As I have stated on several occasions, I am a sucker for a love story.
